What did you cook?

The BBC Good Food Show Showguides are not just a guide they are a recipe book too, packed full of unique and exciting recipes that our celebrity chefs cook up live on stage! This page is dedicated to our visitors to let us know what they have cooked and enjoyed from our Show guides in the past. Please do let us know if you particularly liked a certain recipe or if you added your own personal touch! Here are just a couple of the reviews we received on our recipes so far!

Birmingham:

"We loved the tuna and truffle dish at the restaurant experience so much that I decided to have a go at home. To my surprise it was actually quite simple to make once I’d located all the ingredients!!! A little extravagant for everyday meals, but great for impressing your other half for a romantic night in – and really delicious too! I’m a huge fan of Anjum Anand – the Bengali squash looked amazing at the Show so I tried it myself. I couldn’t find any asafoetida but I used garlic powder instead and this seemed to do the trick. I love serving this up on cold nights in big, family sized portions!"

"Just to let you know that my children and I had an absolutely delightful Christmas Eve last year, making Annabel Karmel’s stained glass window biscuits. They looked wonderful on the tree, especially when the light shone through all the different coloured centres. Thank you!"

London:

"Tortellini al ragu was the best thing we ate at the Restarurant Experience – so I was thrilled to find the recipe in the Showguide. I found the prospect of making my own pasta a bit daunting at first, but I’m glad I did because the meal was delicious. And the best bit is that once you know how to do it, you can experiment with your own fillings – we now eat home made tortellini all the time (Camaroni’s recipe is still the best though)!"

"Alan Murchison’s session was great – I’ve made all his recipes from the Showguide. My favourite is the scallops, and although they don’t quite look as good as the picture, they taste great!"

Simon in West Kensington

Scotland:

I loved Andrew Fairlie’s demonstration in the Winter Kitchen – Roast duck is such a great alternative for a Sunday Roast and I couldn’t wait to get home and try it on my family! I’m normally not really a very good cook but the recipe in the showguide laid it all out so clearly that I didn’t think even I could go wrong! And I didn’t – the duck was absolutely beautiful, I even managed to make the buttered Leeks and Prunes and they were all ready at the same time which is unheard of for me. Next stop will be Gordon’s seared Tuna – I’ll make sure I let you know how it goes.
