Winter Kitchen hosted by Lisa Faulkner
Love Food Hate Waste
The Love Food Hate Waste came back for a fourth year to help visitors to the BBC Good Food Show Scotland make the most of their food and reduce waste by learning the tricks of the trade with free cookery demonstrations from Scotland’s much loved top chefs.
Each year Scots throw away around 566,000 tonnes of food - that’s how much food is bought but never enjoyed. And it's not just peelings and bones, most of this is good food that we simply have not got round to eating and it costs each household an average of £430 every year!
Simple changes to the way we purchase, store and cook our food can help us waste less, save money and help the environment. Now that’s food for thought!
For a recipe pack and information to help you reduce your food waste and save money visit us at the Winter Kitchen or at our stand in the main hall or visit our website www.wasteawarelovefood.org.uk.

(S) = Sign Language Session (Signed sessions in the Winter Kitchen have not yet been confirmed) Where possible the BBC Good Food Shows use humanely reared meats, free-range chickens and eggs and sustainably-sourced fish within the Show Theatres. We also encourage our exhibitors to use the same products when they exhibit. Within our theatres and cookery masterclasses we shop as economically as we can and try and reduce our food waste as much as possible.
